Sebastião Salgado went to Pantanal for the first time in 2011. For 30 days, he produced the images for the project GêneSiS, defined by himself as a “love letter to the planet”.
Released in 2013 as a book and a Photo Show, GêneSiS is the result of an epic expedition, that during eight years investigated landscapes, animals and primitive groups around the globe.
Sebastião Salgado talks about Pantanal and the importance of preservation. To him, the support of the “dominant class” in Brazil is really important: “not only the government but business and financial leaders, politicians… It’s about time to everyone wakes up about this responsability!”[ngg src=”galleries” ids=”1″ display=”basic_imagebrowser”]
